Benefits Of Tinted Windows

Tinted windows offer several advantages. Tint can improve the privacy, security, and style of your vehicle. Window film acts as a protective barrier blocking harmful UV rays and reducing glare from the sun. Window tint also helps keep the interior cooler on hot summer days by blocking heat. In the event of accident window tint adds an extra layer of safety, by helping to hold shattered glass in place, reducing the risk of injury from flying glass shards entering the vehicle.

Window Tint Laws

There are no laws on windows behind the b-pillar – rear driver and passenger windows and boot glass – they can be tinted as dark as you like.

The Front Driver and Passenger side window must have at least 70% VLT – visible light transmission.

Front Windscreens must have 75% VLT. It is illegal to fit any tint – other then chameleon – to the front windscreen.

ER Tints will NOT fit tints that do not confirm to the following laws, unless the vehicle is for off-road use.

Front side windows

UK law states front side windows must emit at least 70% light. Most glass comes from the factory with a slight tint – around 80% – It is an offence to apply any window film that does not confirm to these laws.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does window tint effect visibility inside?

Slightly yes. While completely dark from the outside it is only slightly darker inside and wont adversely effect your vision while driving.

How long does window tint take to dry?

3-5 days. We recommend not using your rear heaters or side windows for a couple days. The film can take up to 2 weeks to fully dry

How long does window tint take to install?

3 – 5 hours. Depending on the shape, size and number of windows being tinted

How do I clean my tinted window?

Glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Do not use anything abrasive you may scratch or damage the tint
